The silence summons me
begs me to take note
of wonder and awe.
Too fast it moves,
all so busy she
seems to cry
Come, come let’s sit
and learn what we know already in our hearts.
And me?
I am busy
with worries
both mine and others
visions of sad destruction, hearts and minds
aching for attention, redemption.
There silence sits, waiting ever
patient
to offer solace and love,
the love of the world,
with love for the world.
the universe.
Deep, deep within, past
the darkest black
the richest blues, there in the center
is the warmest light of
joy
surrender
if only, good Lord
we could be still.
